Exercise to Burn Fat and Taylor Lautner

July 07 13 Comments Category: Ask Yuri, Diet Tips, fitness

In a second I’m going to show you a secret about how to exercise to burn fat.

But first, last night, Amy and I went to see Eclipse – the new Twilight movie. And I couldn’t help but chuckle every time Taylor Lautner was shirtless in the movie, mainly because every young girl in the audience started giggling like…

…well like young girls do.

So, how does Taylor Lautner get such a lean body you might ask?

Well, part of it is the fact that he went through some intense training to build muscle (kind of like what we discussed in my previous post) but the other part is training metabolically to burn the most fat possible.

Now, recently, I had a client ask me a question about whether or not her workout regime was suitable for burning fat. I thought I would share with you what she asked me, as well as the video I put together to respond to her question.

Here’s the video (the question is just beneath):

Question:

Hi Yuri, I just started kayaking once a week and plan on doing it 2-3 per week. I am also walking too school, active in gym class, and I walk a lot.

Is this enough cardio to keep my bodyfat down, plus am I eating healthy?”

=> Do you have any questions about burning fat that I can help you with? Let me know below.

  1. Hey Yuri, how are you? I have one question. One month ago I was totatlly ripped, my abs were showing a lot. But then I started eating normal again (like A LOT and no healthy food) and in one nonth I’ve lost almost all my abs. What can I do to keep my body in the way I want without starving? Thanks a lot.

    • Carlos,

I think you’ve answered your own question.
If you have started eating “normal” again, what you say ” A LOT and no healthy food” then you cannot expect to keep your six pack.

I am a meat eater.(chicken, turkey and fish) all i can suggest is that you stay clear from the crazy grains, the sugars, and eat more lean meats, veggies, nuts, fruits.

    • Carlos, check out Carla’s response. Also, an intermittent 24-hour fast once a week could also be a good idea to stimulate your metabolism. Ensure you’re doing full body workouts and intervals like I discuss in the video, as well. You can also take my FREE six pack abs course.

  2. Good Morning Yuri, My biggest problem is breakfast!! Should I avoid eggs & toast and stick to a green smoothie? Should I avoid Greek Yogurt? I have been active and thin all my life up until 2 yrs ago when I became depressed and sit and eat gaining 15-20#. I am 5′4″ and now weigh 142! I am miserable but need a push to start~please advise me Yuri!!

Thank you for every great suggestion and for being here!~

    • The little details like that are not as important as the bigger reason why you are in a “funk”. You need to find some compelling reasons WHY that will get motivated and pumped to get back into your groove. I know you have it within you. Eggs are fine for breakfast. So is a green smoothie. You don’t need to eat the same stuff all the time. Listen to what your body needs and you should be ok.

    • Most health food stores have all sorts of herbal teas. But don’t worry too much if you can’t find them. You’ll still do fine with the tea.

  6. Hi Yuri,

I have a problem with my hips & thighs I need to know the best exrecise for hips, thighs & bumps. my upper body i am comfortable with. I am a size 34 but because of my lower body, I have to buy a size 36 to accommodate the above mentioned. you can imagine that everytime i have to go to the tailor for some adjustment more especially with dresses.

    • You need to be doing full body exercises, which inherently involve the muscles of the legs a lot more. Squats, lunges, and step-ups are great examples.
