@Sparrow--I am almost sure you won't get to read this, but I saw Avatar in the regular theater with my brother. We decided to forgo the 3-D to save a buck or two, and we still thought it was really incredible. You and your spouse will be fine without the three-dimensional effects--the regular digital ones are still worth seeing!

Hi Yuri,

Thank you for shareing your thoughts about the movie "Avitar". The plot very closely parralels the history of the United States as they settled the West. The US government committed geniside on the Native Americans, calling it their "Manifest Destiny". They believed that, "might makes right".

Some citizens wanted to coexist peacefully amoung the natives, but greed and fear lead others to demonize the native culture. It was Europeans who first practiced scalping on Native Americans. They slaughtered the whole buffalo population, leaving the natives to starve to death. Custer's soldiers killed every man, woman, and child, leaving none alive.

The natives loved and respected the land and nature without owning it. They thanked the animals who gave it's life for theirs. They tread lightly on the land because their spirit and survival depended on it, as does ours. I hope to learn form my country's past mistakes. Thank you, Yuri and Amy, for teaching me a more healthyful and narural lifestyle.

Best movie ever!! I loved the message of how everything is connected in some way. I believe it's the same way on earth as well. The animation, color, story line, intensity etc.. was all simply amazing. It stayed with me for a long time after I watched it and would love to see it again.

Wow! Interesting comments from you folks. What's this about worshiping nature? How about just being aware of the fact that we are a part of this same nature and we need to respect it? Where do we get our food? Maybe those people don't realize we get it from the EARTH and this same food nurishes our bodies and gives us energy? In fact it is the only thing that really does. There is no worship - only respect.
As for the military, yes, there sure are some who are power hungry and control hungry. They are few and far between. Most in the military, I would assume, are intent on finding peace for our earth. My grandson is, I know for a fact!
Love the movie - and thanks for bringing out your spiritual insights for us to appreciate!

I saw the movie with my husband and picked out every environmental gobbly-gook portrayed in the movie. This was just another subtle way to influence people into believing the earth is dying and we need to take extreme steps to "save it". I also did not like how they portrayed the military. There are checks and balances in the military, it's not a renegade commander run amok! The special effects were good, so it made it entertaining, but I get totally turned off watching movies that promote agendas in ways that make it seem true.
