FAQ Friday

In today’s FAQ video/blog post I’m going to answer the following questions:

1. Should I workout first thing in the morning?

2. If running, how do you actually time yourself doing 8 seconds on, 12 second off?  And if on the bike do I add resistance during the 8 seconds on or just do a sprint with the same resistance as the ‘off’ 12 seconds?

3. What are some good substitutes for bread?

For the answers to these questions (and a few more golden nuggets) watch the video…

As mentioned in the video, here’s the link to the Treadmill Trainer Fat Burning Interval workouts:

The Gymboss timer is GREAT for intervals! I love it. It was Adam & Ryan who commented about it a year ago on their blog, and I got one. It’s been a huge help for my interval workouts.
    Great recommendation!

Hi Yuri, Ricardo from London here. Great work btw!

I have substituted normal bread for gluten free bread. I have maybe 2-4 slices a week. I do 3-4 interval strength training sessions a week and in the last 10 months have seen a great transformation in my abs. I am 1.90cm tall and weighed 82 kilos. I am now 69 kilos. I lot leaner and trimmer all round. I have a 4 pack now (wife really impressed!) but cannot get rid of the lower belly fat. My diet is composed of smoothies, juices and salads. I am very strict with my diet so I do not know where I am going wrong. I do have about 5-10 rice cakes with coconut oil, agave nectar or organic peanut butter. I have to have something sweet man! Is this my downfall? Thanks a lot for all your help. You started me on this amazing road and I truly thank you very much. Cheers.

You’re on the right path Ricardo. Remember that as a man, lower abdominal fat will always be the LAST to go. It takes time and committed effort but you’ll get there. Sugar and sweets will not help though so do your best to keep them at a minimum.
